Itinerary

Day 1. Flight to Bocas – The other side of Bocas

This morning a Dynamo Travel representative will pick you up at your hotel in Panama City to drive you to the Domestic Airport for your 1 hour flight to Isla Colón, Bocas Del Toro. Upon arrival in Bocas, your local guide will be waiting for you at the airport, ready to take you to your hotel, where you will leave your luggage, get your bathing stuff ready and take off on your first adventure.

We will take you by land across Isla Colon to enjoy a day in the serene waters of Starfish Beach in Boca de Drago, a more secluded area of the island.

You will pass through small villages as you travel through the beautiful, lush tropical rainforest for which Bocas Del Toro is famous.  Once at Boca Del Drago we will go on a 25 minute walk along the palm-lined shore and right by amazing mangrove forests to enjoy a relaxing day in the turquoise waters of Starfish Beach.

After a couple of hours swimming in the warm Caribbean Sea or enjoying freshly made fruit juices or a refreshing piña colada, we will go by boat for a visit to the famous Bird Island: a series of rocks close to shore where you may spot the rare red-billed tropicbird, an amazing looking bird that is found in only a few places in the world.

From here we’ll go back to Boca Del Drago for a delicious Caribbean style lunch and a visit to the local artisans or one last dip in the water before heading back to downtown Isla Colon.

From here you will navigate to Crawl Cay to jump in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea and snorkel around a great diversity of coral reef surrounded by multicolored fish.

Then, you will enjoy a delicious Caribbean style lunch before getting back in the boat to navigate through the mangrove-rimmed islands of Bastimentos National Park, toward the entrance of the trail that takes you on a 20 minute walk to Red Frog Beach. As you go, our guide will try to locate the elusive Strawberry Poison Dart Frog (Oophaga Pumilio), endemic to this island.

Today is a day of learning and discoveries.  You will go to the bay of Bocatorito and the Island of San Cristobal, to visit a local cacao farm.

You will first walk through this property to visit the plantation and learn about the pros and cos of producing Cacao and it’s by products in Bocas Del Toro.  Afterwards, learn about the drying process of the cacao bean, once considered a currency among the Pre Columbian Natives, and nowadays considered a delicatessen by chocolate fans around the world.

After tasting different forms of chocolate and having the opportunity to buy some bars or nibs to enjoy later on, we go back to our boat for our relaxing ride back to Bocas Island.
