Itinerary

Day 1. Flight to Boquete – Hike the waterfall trail

This morning a Dynamo Travel representative will pick you up at your hotel in Panama City to drive you to the Domestic Airport for your 1 hour flight to David, Chiriquí. Upon arrival your local guide will be waiting for you at the airport, ready to drive you up to the town of Boquete.

Once there, you will start your adventure with an easy 3 hour hike on one of the best trails in the area.  You will be amazed by the beautiful sceneries, dense vegetation and its wildlife. If you are lucky, you might even find one of the most elusive inhabitants of this forest, the amazing Resplendent Quetzal.

After this unique first experience, you will have lunch in a local restaurant, to enjoy some of the local cuisine, and will then proceed to your hotel to check in and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Day 2. Panama’s Gourmet Coffee

The fertile highlands of Panama have become famous worldwide for their award-winning gourmet coffee.  Chiriquí’s special microclimates have an influence on the flavor, aroma and body of our coffee, producing a great variety of blends and some of the most expensive coffee beans in the world.

Our guide will walk you through the coffee plantations and describe the different types of coffee growing on the slopes of Panama’s highest mountains.  You’ll learn about the harvesting of the ripe coffee cherries, carefully done by the skilled hands of local Ngäbe and Bugle Indians.

From here you will visit the actual factory where the fruit is classified, processed, dried and stored in huge warehouses, ready for exportation.

This tour wouldn’t be complete without a taste of this delicious beverage; therefore, the last part of the experience is to learn about the cupping process and the identification of the qualities that expert “cuppers” look for in a blend to place it in global coffee rankings. By now, your taste buds will be craving the last activity of the tour: enjoying a cup of freshly brewed Panamanian coffee.

Take back a souvenir from this unique experience in the form of a bag of local coffee to enjoy and reminisce or to share with a loved one back home!

After a delicious lunch stop in town, you will have a free afternoon to relax or to take on one of the optional tours listed below:

  • Canopy Zip Line
  • White water Rafting
  • ATV adventure
  • Birdwatching

Day 3. Caldera hot springs and petroglyphs

Today you’ll visit the town of Caldera, a short drive from Boquete, to enjoy a swim in its natural hot springs, still used nowadays by the locals as part of their treatments for rheumatism and arthritis.  On your way there you will make a stop at a private farm where they have discovered Pre Columbian petroglyphs which were used as maps, for religious ceremonies and as a sun calendar that they used while organizing their local agriculture.

Have lunch in a local farm very close to the river and enjoy an authentic local lunch made by the friendly and always smiling “Doñas” from the place.

After some relaxing time on the farm, interacting with the locals and maybe some surprise guests that inhabit the farm, it’s time to head back to your hotel in Boquete.

Its permanent template climate and lots of ”bajareque”, a fine mist that is present year round, the province of Chiriqui can produce between three and four crops a year and distributes these products to the rest of the Republic.
